Toddlers learn best when they feel safe and free to explore in their own way.

Between one and two, children are on the move: walking, climbing, talking and wanting to do things for themselves. Our toddler rooms are busy, happy places, with plenty going on throughout the day.
Toddlers learn to be part of a larger group while still growing at their own pace. Educators note what each child enjoys and finds tricky, and use these observations to plan the next activities.
Our approach is inspired by Reggio Emilia, so many activities grow out of the children’s own interests. The best way to see it is to come and visit.
A week full of discovery
Toddlers learn by doing. Every week is full of hands-on activities, planned around what the children are curious about.
- Messy play, painting and crafts
- Music, dancing and movement
- Storytelling, puppet shows and dressing up
- Gardening in our vegetable patch
- Outdoor play every day
- Water play under shaded canopies in summer
Growing independence, one step at a time
Daily routines are part of the learning. At mealtimes, toddlers practise serving and feeding themselves with cutlery suited to their age, and through tidying up, handwashing and dressing they build real independence, one step at a time.
We keep you closely involved, with updates and photos on Procare, a monthly observation of your child’s development, and a meeting twice a year to talk about their progress.
