Early Preschool
Our oldest children grow in confidence, friendship and curiosity through play, projects and our specialist sessions.
Growing in independence, friendship and readiness for kindergarten.
Between two and three, children start playing together, asking endless questions and wanting to try everything. In our preschool room, play is their natural language, and educators follow each child’s interests while offering real choices through the day.
We also prepare children gently for the move to kindergarten, with graduation parties every January and September for those moving on.

A day in preschool
Every day is planned around the children, with plenty of room for their own ideas.

Learning through projects
Each morning starts with a small circle, where children share what they would like to do. Educators note these ideas and build them into the week, so the children help shape what they learn.
Interests often grow into projects. A child’s question about frogs, for example, might lead the group to find out where frogs live, how tadpoles grow and what else lives in a pond, through books, drawing, painting and even growing tadpoles. Projects are displayed in the room, so you can see the learning take shape.
Specialist sessions
Preschool children also take part in our specialist sessions and everyday experiences:
- Arts – exploring different art styles and techniques to express their ideas
- Music – songs and rhythm that support language, movement and self-expression
- Fitness – dancing, yoga, outdoor games and early sport skills
- Earth – caring for the environment, from recycling to growing vegetables
- Projects – child-led investigations inspired by Reggio Emilia
- Language – conversations, stories and songs in English and Maltese
- Outdoor play – plenty of time in our shaded outdoor areas
