Michelle

Managing Director

I’m Michelle, Managing Director of Stepping Stones. I’ve been with Stepping Stones since 2009, and my role is to look after our team and run the centres. I chose this line of work because, during my psychology course, I became fascinated with child psychology. I then furthered my studies and became a play therapist. I consider myself to be patient, a problem solver and I feel that I am able to understand children’s needs and wants.

“The most rewarding thing about my job is that in this line of work I am able to make children’s day brighter and messier. My proudest achievement will always be my children and my marriage. In my free time I enjoy outdoor sports, picnics and dancing.”

Stepping Stones

early childhood educators.

Every Stepping Stones educator holds an MQF Level 4 childcare diploma, a paediatric first aid certificate, a food handling certificate, a clean police conduct and POMA clearance. Each centre is led by a coordinator with an MQF Level 5 diploma in childcare management.

Before starting, new educators complete training hours to get to know the centre and the children. After that, they have a supervision session with their coordinator every two months and an appraisal every six months, and we encourage ongoing training and further study.
