Toddlers

Toddlers learn best in safe, loving places where they can explore, in their own way.
About

Toddlers (1–2Years)

The toddler years are a remarkable season of discovery. During this stage, children begin to explore their independence, express their personalities, and learn how they relate to the world around them. Curiosity grows quickly, language begins to blossom, and everyday experiences become powerful opportunities for learning.

At Stepping Stones, we recognise that toddlers are naturally eager to explore, move, question, and imitate. Our educators gently guide this curiosity through play, exploration, and meaningful interactions, helping children grow in confidence while feeling safe and supported.

We also recognise that parents are a child’s first and most important teachers. Our role is to work alongside families, supporting the foundations already being built at home. By nurturing strong relationships, encouraging independence, and creating a warm and respectful environment, we help toddlers develop a strong sense of identity and belonging.

Through play-based experiences inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, toddlers are encouraged to investigate their surroundings, express their ideas, and begin forming meaningful connections with others.

What we offer during the toddler years

How We Support Toddlers at Stepping Stones?

The toddler years are full of curiosity, movement, and rapid development. At Stepping Stones, our educators carefully design environments and experiences that support children during this important stage while respecting each child’s natural pace of growth.

Our role is to gently guide exploration, encourage independence, and work closely with families so that every child feels secure, confident, and supported as they discover the world around them.

Toddlers program

The toddler years are a time of remarkable growth, curiosity, and discovery. At Stepping Stones, our toddler program is designed to support children as they begin developing independence, communication, and social awareness.

Through play-based experiences inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, toddlers are encouraged to explore their surroundings, express their ideas, and build meaningful relationships with others. Our educators guide children gently through daily routines and learning opportunities, creating an environment where curiosity is welcomed and every child feels safe to investigate the world around them.

We work closely with families during this important stage of development, recognising that parents are a child’s first and most important teachers. Our role is to support that foundation by providing a nurturing environment where toddlers can grow in confidence, creativity, and connection with others.
