We will develop a monoclonal antibody fragment that specifically binds EGFr on the cell surface by using phage display libraries as a screening platform. In parallel, we will develop a tumor cell staining technique that specifically detects surface EGFr on viable cells. This technique is based on internalization of an anti-EGFr antibody upon binding, along with the use of fluorescent reporters.
